Thank you for sharing this journey. You keep a wonderful blog.

I have been trying to research my Great-Greatmother, Caroline Spindle's line, but am constantly hitting brick walls. She also came from Virginia, though where, I can't be sure. My lack of information might be explained by stories that run through the family regarding some flaky parenting, but I would really love to get some kind of lead, somewhere. Can you give me any ideas where I might look further, because my Spindles are so elusive!

Many Thanks,
Kathy Rollins

Yep, I have been doing the same. The Putman's wind break is doing well!!! They never did anything that wasn't first rate. Notice the salted out white area from the old artesian well next to the horse pasture. It kills me as a soil scientist to know what has happened to that soil and how it has grown over the years. I have also been cruising around Blunt street view and found my renter's farmstead. I asked him the other day on the phone where he got the school bell out in front of his house. . . could have heard a pin drop because he new I hadn't met him or been to SD in 25+ years. You can go north out of blunt round the curve and a couple of miles up north is a large red tractor in the field.....on "my/Dad's" land.

Enjoyed reading about Christopher Osborne and wife Catherine Furr. Her sister Mary is my 4th g-grandmother (married George Ury). I found an interesting file at Salt Lake involving a Noah Furr estate. Catharine Osborne and others filed suit against Winecoff's and others resulting in payment to Catharine of about $106 - paid to her representative, as well as my 2nd g-grandmother ( as heirs-at-law),. I wasn't able to find the original case, but the documents i do have state that this settlement was the result of a Supreme court order. It seems to involve an estate of Noah Furr.I can't find any Noah furr's other than one brother who died in infancy. Do you know anything about this?
I think a good reason for Catharine being disinherited is that she left the Lutheran faith.
Take care,
Dorothy - some type of cousin.
