It is now January 15, 2012, and it continues to be " A VERY GOOD YEAR".

I am the 6XGrt Grand Daughter of Andrew Mitchell and Mary McGowan (1730 - 1790 ).

It is said "what is posted on the net, stays on the net", and in this case I am ever so grateful.

Hi to all I am Michael Watkins I am from Texas We have been trying to do research on my mother's side of the family, My grandfather R.W.Spindle and and grandmother Lessie L. Jackson who married him. I have found lot's about the Jackson's but very little about the Spindle's. I am just looking for name's, what they did, where they are from and date's. I do know from my grandmother some were in the civil war and Texas rangers. I don't know if you could help but I would love a few web-site's on this.

Seems to intertwine a bit in some ways. I remember that in the early (possibly earlier than that) 1800's the Osborne/Ausburn family lived in the sandhills region of NC; decided to travel south and ended up in Southern GA (Cairo in Grady County), and yes some migrated to FL. My grandmother was Eva Clydie (I always assumed Osborne, but now seems could have been Ausburn). She married Kliney(?) Kelley. Her mother was Ivy Delilah Bryant who married James Alexander Ausburn (I believe the spelling was later changed to Osborn; no idea why) they had so many children: (not sure if I can name them all) Anderson, Alice, Luther, Polly, Eva, Liza, Bo, Mag, Archie, Arthur. The last name of Gainous is also connected to the Ausburn family as well.
Good luck!

I am seeking the ancestry of my gr grandfather, John Reed Mitchell b. ca1814 AL-d. 1891 Parker Co., TX. DNA proves my line is distantly related to Andrew Tate Mitchell and a connection to David Reed Mitchell. Have you found any info concerning my John Reed Mitchell. Will gladly exchange info.

I am stuck on John Mitchell (my 8th grandfather). All the information I have for him is that he was born abt. 1750 in Ireland, settled in Chatham NC, and fought in the Revolutionary war then moved to Marion Co, TN. The John Mitchell in your line looks very similar. Do you know if he had a son named Warren W. Mitchell b1782 in Chatham Co. NC(my direct ancestor) or Howell, John Jr, or William? It looks like Warren, Howell, and William all married a
daughter of Harbert Lewis if that helps too.

Thanks for your time and hope to find out we have the same family. Even if it's not the same John hoping you have maybe run across my John and could point me in the right direction. It would be great to know more.
